Antresol

Find this superb space on Shevchenka Boulevard and then give yourself a firm pat on the back. A cafe, restaurant, bookshop, bar and live music venue rolled into one, Antresol is very much a meeting point for Kiev's savvy, street-credible sophisticats. Lounge around in the afternoon, smoke your way through a pack of fags (you're in the Ukraine after all!), leaf through a paperback, sip a coffee or beer and generally feel chuffed to be here. Stick around 'til evening and you might even be lucky enough to catch one of the city's more eclectic bands strike up some chords, or a DJ spin some leisurely background music. Nice. Antresol is the brother of fellow 'Baboons', Babuin and Kvartyra.

Antresol was a find. A good place for lunch and a coffee.

Great venue. They even did some good nosh here too. Seem to remember the waitress was quite cute... although that in no way has influenced my rating of this bar
