Whilst it might not have all the makings of a fun day out taking a guided tour to the remains of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant is educational to say the least. The world's worst nuclear accident took place in 1986, killing 47 workers with thousands more dying of cancer owing to winds that swept the radiation across Europe and as far as America. 340,000 people were evacuated from the danger zone due to radioactivity exceeding that generated by the Hiroshima bomb. Take this Chernobyl tour and you will venture into the 'dead zone' to visit not only the famous reactor 4, but also the deserted town of Pripyat, the red forest and the scientific centre. Thanks to the short time you are exposed to the radiation, you can rest assured that there is no chance of returning from the tour with thirteen fingers and a vestigial tail... Well no great chance.
