If you're arriving in Kiev by air at Borispol Airport, you can jump in an Avis car right from the airport. They're open from eight in the morning right through to nine in the evening, Monday to Friday and eight until five at weekends. And once you're sorted out with your wheels, you're free to discover this gorgeous little Ukrainian city and its surroundings. Why not take a spin up the mountains to the lovely little hilltop monastery of Pechersk Lavra. You can also explore its tantalising network of caves as well. However be warned, driving around the capital itself might not be a pleasure for the uninitiated. Be careful and have fun.
